He was sufficiently prosperous to leave his unmarried daughter a portion of £800. In 1616 the recently appointed recorder of Evesham, John Fleete made Langston his deputy, but after Fleete died in early 1619 Langston may have lost office. On 18 Oct. 1617 Langston was elected town clerk of Stratford-upon-Avon, where he had family connections. In September 1620 he tried to resign because of the ‘heartburning and contention’ in the borough, but was persuaded to stay on until 1624. English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1614 and 1626. None of his descendants sat in Parliament.

Henry, was about 18 years old in 1620, 16 October 1660 - 7 November 1660. Henry Langston, Matthew Wilder, John Rowse, William Wheatley, James Abra that, larence Washington, Thomas Colclough, John Benbow and Roger Jeffryes shippers of goods on the King Fernando, Mr. John Whittey, bound from London to Virginia when 102 hardy souls boarded the Mayflower and sailed for an area to be called Plymouth, and landed at Plymouth Rock. Henry's will was proven in Worcestershire on July 22 , 1681, left his entire estate to his wife and no mention was made of children. Neither does his will state that he was without issue.

In 1672-73 John Langston received a grant from the general court for 1,600 acres in New Kent County, Virginia. He was a colonel in Bacon's Rebellion (Bacon's Rebellion was an armed rebellion in 1676 by Virginia settlers led by Nathaniel Bacon against the rule of Governor William Berkeley, due to refusal to retaliate for a series of Native American attacks on frontier settlements. In addition, many colonists wished to push westward to claim Indian frontier land, but they were denied permission by Gov. Berkeley). The British put down their rebellion but failed to find John so that they could hang him. He turned himself in on July 31, 1677, was allowed to wear a sword on Aug. 27, 1678, and received a pardon by the assembly in January of 1680. However, they barred him from ever holding public office.John Langston had two grants of l and. The first, 1681, to "John Langston" for 1300 acres in New Kent, being the land formerly granted to Hannah Clarke, found to escheat by Marke Work man, Deputy Escheator, and now granted to John Langston, with 1316 acres in New Kent.There was a group of loyalists in this section. Sir Philip Honeywood (see doc below), Col. Mainwaring Hammond and Anthony Langston had been loyalist officers, as had been William Bassett of the same county. Mrs. Hannah Clarke was widow of John Clarke, of York County, who was a son of Sir John Clarke, of Wrotham, Kent, England. She was also the executrix of Sir Dudley Wyatt, a Royalist officer, who died in Virginia in 1651.

The first Ralph Wormeley, who died in 1651, at the early age of thirty-one, cordially welcomed refugee royalists to Rosegill. Sir Henry Chicheley, Deputy Governor, made his home at Rosegill and died here Dec. 1, 1682. In 1686, the second Ralph Wormeley was host to the Frenchman Monsieur Durand of Dauphiné, who sought in the Colony a haven for the Huguenots, his forlorn compatriots.

A deed was made by John Langston II on November 25, 1739, involving a land swap. It read in part "plantation tract...on the north side of the Sumerton Swamp, containing 200 acres...to Richard Green...(in trade ) for a plantation in Chowan County called Sarum, 150 acres which is part of atract formerly taken up and patented by one Katherine Langston. John was a veteran of the Revolutionary War, and was granted a pension for that service. Tennessee Pension Roll 1835 shows the following "John Bearden, Private, South Carolina Line- $63.38 annual allowance, $148.33 amount received May 17, 1833, pension started at age 79. Late in life, he came to Flat Creek to join his sons Eli and Billy. Mary Came also. All of them died in Bedford County, Tennessee.

2~Eli M. Bearden 1785-1831 M: Nancy Wynn Langston 1789-1859 William and Eli Bearden were among the first families to settle in Flat Creek, Middle Tennessee. The father of William and Eli Bearden was a Revolutionary soldier from South Carolina. After the war he came to Flat Creek to live with his two sons and their families. He died and is buried in the old graveyard on the hill at Flat Creek.

Daniel Harris's company and in William Eaton's regiment of the Granville County, North Carolina, militia in 1754. He received 150 acres on the Tarr River from his father on Dec. 25, 1760. The Granville County, North Carolina, tax list of 1768 recorded that James had one Negro slave by the name of Dina. About 1820 after James's death, Joannah and most of the family moved over the river into Rabun County, Georgia.

Her cause of Freedom during the Revolutionary War, lead to her Patriotism to the American cause was so great, it earned her the pseudonym 'Daring Dicey'. She provided valuable information to the Whigs and harassed the enemy during the entire war. She was listed as one of The Great Women of the American Revolution.Struggling through the strong current of the Tyger stream in the middle of the night, 15-year-old Dicey Langston raced to warn her brother and his men that the settlement at Little Eden, South Carolina would be attacked by the "Bloody Scouts" at daybreak.The Bloody Scouts were a group of outlawed Tories (British supporters) led by Bill Cunningham. They were known to be ruthless in killing anyone who was part of the rebel cause.

He was the son of Thomas and Emily Langston of Laurens District. After his father's death which took place when he was a boy his mother remarried with Joseph Shaw Esquire, B: 10/02/1819 D: 05/09/1853. The family then moved to Georgia.
